Tinubu Approves Military Battalions for Iseyin, Kishi in Oyo State
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the establishment of military battalions in Iseyin and Kishi towns in the Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division, Major General AB Mahmuda, disclosed this on Independence Day during a courtesy call on the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade.
According to the GOC, the two battalions will be under the control and supervision of the newly established Military Brigade and Garrison in Oyo town.
The move is expected to strengthen security across Oke-Ogun amid longstanding concerns over banditry and other criminal activities in the region.
